We are an association called GhaNorfest. We are a non-profit structure founded in 2015 that consists of seven members and our goal is to evoke and keep the cultural spirit and bring Ghanaian and Norwegian cultures together. Ghanaian and Norwegian communities’ participation in fun activities is a way to learn and teach from each other about your identity, especially the youth who is there to preserve and protect it.

Our motto is ‘Each one teach one’, which means that every single person has something to teach you about them, and it is urgent that we are open and listen. We deal with the subjects of traditions in music, dance, art, fashion, food and market opportunities. We do it for better understanding of each other and yourself in the process, which leads to respecting values of others and recognizing the uniqueness of your own country. We think that different nations can cooperate and celebrate as one in maintaining their heritage, and be recognized equally.

We have already created an event alongside Cash Team Entertainment called ‘A night in Oslo Concert’ that took place on the 30th of March 2019. The event was held at Melahuset and performing artists were LOL, Bastero, Patapaa, Eddie Khae and DJ Fyber. Our founder Daniel Ashitey Quaye loves to celebrate and promote music from Ghana and he already established a name for himself for bringing African artists to perform in Europe. He has a passion for festivals, and did voluntary work at Oslo MELA Festival in 2015 and 2016, also at African Food Festival as a drummer in 2022 and in 2023 helping the vendors. He was a projector operator at SAK Film Festival in 2013. He founded Cash Team Entertainment, which invited musicians such as Dallas Bantan, Bastero, Jeida Rich and Wisa Greid. He was also working alongside 5K Productions as an event organizer and brought artists such as Stonebwoy, Bisa Kdei, Kranium, Mr Eazi, Kojo Funds and Bastero to Europe. It is a music scene of Hiplife, Afrobeats, Dancehall and Highlife. Both Cash Team Entertainment and 5K Productions are Norway based companies.
