GhaNorfest in collaboration with Cash Team Entertainment presents Ghana Norway Music and Culture Festival.
The goal of this festival is to display Ghanaian and Norwegian tradition and culture through music, dance, art, fashion, food and activities. To present contemporary Ghanaian and Norwegian artists of Dance hall, Reggae and Hip hop and other genres that are inspired by them and derived from them, alongside with renewing and upholding traditional dance and music, and connecting all of those worlds of music. It will present not very well known form of artistic expression, like talking drum, which we hope can inspire youth and artists.
This festival gives chance for young musicians and dancers to step on the scene. It is the only festival in Oslo community, displaying that type of music within Norway and Ghana, and making a clear connection between the two countries. It will activate the Norwegian and Ghanaian community together, it is a way of networking, meeting new people, re-engaging with the past and reflecting on the future, creating connections between people and places. Moreover, it opens the dialogue of trade and investment in artwork, and exchanges the information within Norwegian and Ghanaian markets. The festival is free and everyone is welcome, we have invited different communities with representatives, we want them to teach us on culture, and how the music brings people together. GhaNorfest has come to stay, we would like to continue the festival in next years, making it more special in the future.
